Step 1: Bienvenido a Guatemala

Just a couple quick flights totaling no more than 6 hours you’ll arrive in a country full of warm weather, welcoming people and smoking volcanoes [that you can climb!]. No visa required, just bring your passport!

Step 2: Immerse in the culture

Hope you like coffee, tortillas and black beans! A lot of the culture is delicious food..Eat it all!! But so much of it is art and the people as well! Art is everywhere in the city and stores are filled with with local artisans product [which I’ve bought each trip!]. The Hyatt did a great job blending the modern amenities with the culture of Guatemala.

Step 3: Learn Spanish

Spanish is definitely the first and main language and once you are in it, you’ll want to learn it! I’ve learned to understand and read it but speaking it back takes some learning! Google Translate has a great app though so download it before any trip!
